Generations Growing in Faith

|

Amen, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

- Mark 13:30-31

When you study the history of salvation in the bible and through the church's history, it is obvious that God has a pattern! I would like to suggest that that pattern is the dirsruption of plans! God's salvation comes about through the disruption of plans of some very good people. Abraham and Sarah are enjoying retirement when God calls them to leave their homeland and go to a place that God would show them. Joseph is sold into slavery by his brothers, and he becomes their savior when a famine hits Israel. A virgin and her betrothed husband are suddenly pregnant and obliged to travel a great distance for a census. The disciples experience their friend crucified only to rise from the dead and send the Spirit of God upon them!

It is an understatement to say that our plans have been disrupted with this health crisis of the coronavirus. Might I suggest that if God's pattern holds true, there will be blessings and gifts for all of us in this shut down. Two gifts that occur to me are the gifts of time and the opportunity to perhaps reconnect with some old friends.

Lets all get together when this is over and witnesss to how God has moved in our lives during this time!
